College of Law: A Key Partner in Establishing Legal Awareness Among University of Mosul Students

As part of enhancing its pioneering role in spreading legal culture, the College of Law participated in the launch of the activities of the Eighth Week / Second Season of the Legal Awareness Program, held at the College of Environmental Sciences, University of Mosul, in collaboration with the Science and Technology Gardens Department at the University Presidency, represented by Dr. Omar Qusay, and the Legal Affairs Department, represented by legal expert Muslim Hamid Al-Rawi.
The College’s participation was under the supervision and presence of Professor Dr. Mohammed Siddiq Mohammed Abdullah, affirming the College of Law’s commitment to building bridges of cooperation with all colleges of the university and contributing effectively to spreading legal awareness among students and staff.
The program targets all colleges of the University of Mosul, including students and employees, and aims to establish legal culture and enhance awareness of applicable legislation by addressing several important themes, most notably:

The dangers of drugs and an introduction to the Narcotics Law No. (50) of 2017.

An introduction to the Penal Code No. (111) of 1969.

Explanation of legal provisions related to phenomena such as bullying, domestic violence, and electronic blackmail.

Highlighting contracts in civil law, and both contractual and tort liability.

Reviewing the recent amendment to the Personal Status Law.

Introducing the Student Discipline Law and the State Employee Discipline Law.
This event is part of a series of activities by the “Legal Arms” volunteer team, aimed at building a university community aware of its rights and duties, capable of dealing with legal issues responsibly and knowledgeably.
