Active Academic Participation of the College of Law at the University of Mosul in the Conference “Justice Toward Peace” Addressing the Protection of Nineveh’s Children

The College of Law at the University of Mosul rendered a distinguished academic presence in the proceedings of the conference titled “Justice Toward Peace: The Voices of Nineveh’s Children and Their Future,” convened under the auspices of the Presidency of the Nineveh Federal Court of Appeal and with the participation of the Iraqi Women Judges Association.

The College’s contribution was manifest in the moderation of panel discussions and the presentation of specialized scholarly papers elucidating the legal and humanitarian dimensions pertaining to the protection of children in post-conflict contexts.

Dr. Shaimaa Abdulstar participated in the first panel discussion, presenting a scholarly paper examining the “Right to Education” as a foundational pillar for societal reconstruction and a principal cornerstone for the consolidation of stability and the prevention of the resurgence of extremism and violence. She underscored the State’s obligation to establish a safe and inclusive educational environment for children affected by displacement and human rights violations in Nineveh Governorate.

Dr. Qais Abdulwahab Isa, meanwhile, moderated the discourse in the second session, which deliberated upon substantive legal and humanitarian dossiers with the participation of a distinguished assembly of judges.

The workshop was graced by the attendance of an elite cohort of judicial, administrative, and academic figures from Nineveh Governorate.
