The College of Law at the University of Mosul held, on Thursday, August 27, 2026, a workshop entitled “Academic Discipline for Postgraduate Students in Higher Education Institutions in Light of Instructions No. (160) of 2007” , in the Moot Court Hall, with the participation of postgraduate students from the university.

The workshop was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Obaid Owaid Al-Hadidi, who addressed a number of ethical and legal standards regulating the conduct of postgraduate students within the university environment. He emphasized the importance of adhering to applicable regulations and instructions in a manner that contributes to safeguarding the student’s academic and research path.

The workshop covered the most prominent academic and educational obligations placed upon postgraduate students, foremost among them integrity and scientific honesty, adherence to university norms, respect for regulations and instructions, and the preservation of the educational institution’s property. It also addressed the types of disciplinary violations and the corresponding penalties.

The presenter also reviewed the mechanisms for objection and appeal, as well as the guarantees provided to students under the instructions, thereby enhancing awareness of rights and duties and ensuring the proper handling of violations within the approved legal frameworks.

The workshop aimed to promote a culture of academic discipline among postgraduate students, to instill values of integrity, responsibility, and commitment, and to contribute to providing a sound university and research environment that limits transgressions and preserves the quality of the academic and scientific path.
