Master’s thesis in the Human Rights Law branch on the legal protection of minors from sexual exploitation / a study in human rights law,,,
On Thursday, January 30, 2025, the Human Rights Law Branch at the College of Law at the University of Mosul discussed a master’s thesis on the legal protection of minors from sexual exploitation / a study in human rights law, attended by Professor Dr. Munir Salem Taha, Assistant President of the University of Mosul for Scientific Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Wissam Nemat Ibrahim Al-Saadi, Dean of the College of Law, and a number of members of the College Council and its lecturers.
The thesis submitted by the student Fulla Salem Hassan in the Human Rights Law Branch addressed the phenomenon of sexual exploitation of minors, which is a cultural, social and economic phenomenon and problem whose existence was the result of many common factors, including those related to the family circumstances of the minor, social and the circumstances of countries, their ideology and their various economies. Protecting minors from sexual exploitation has become an urgent necessity to prevent them from being exposed to danger or suffering from the negative effects of this exploitation.
The message aims to demonstrate the importance and necessity of protecting minors from sexual exploitation. In addition, international cooperation has proven its importance between countries and non-governmental organizations and its effectiveness in combating cross-border phenomena. The discussion committee was chaired by Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus Yahya, with membership of Professor Dr. Raqib Muhammad Jassim, Assistant Professor Dr. Qusay Ali Abbas, and membership and supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Hala Ahmed Muhammad.
