On Wednesday, 15 July 2026, the College of Law at the University of Mosul discussed the doctoral dissertation presented by the researcher Haider Youssef Aziz Abd Al-Ridha, entitled “The Legal System of Transparency in Arbitration – A Comparative Analytical Study”, under the supervision of Professor Dr. Mustafa Natiq Saleh Matloub.

The dissertation sought to study and analyze the concept of transparency in commercial and investment arbitration, by clarifying its nature and applications in a number of international arbitration rules and centers, including the UNCITRAL Rules, the Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration, the Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration, the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Paris, and the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) , while highlighting the most prominent manifestations of transparency in those rules, as well as addressing related concepts, including third-party funding and mechanisms for submitting documents and evidence.

The dissertation aimed to present a comparative legal study of the concept of transparency, and to clarify the points of agreement and difference between it and other concepts such as disclosure and confidentiality, in addition to tracing the historical development of this concept and its impact on enhancing trust and fairness in arbitration proceedings.
