On Thursday, September 17, 2026, the activities of the specialized training course titled “Legal and Political Governance for Institutions” were concluded. The course was organized by the Rehabilitation, Employment, and Follow-up Unit at the College of Law, University of Mosul, in cooperation with the Rehabilitation, Employment, and Follow-up Unit at the College of Political Science and the Science and Technology Gardens Division at the Presidency of the University of Mosul, and lasted from Sunday, September 13, until Thursday, September 17, 2026.

The closing day of the course witnessed the attendance of the Assistant Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs at the College of Law, Dr. Qais Abdul Wahab Issa, and Lecturer Dr. Omar Qusay, official of the Science and Technology Gardens Division at the Presidency of the University of Mosul, along with a number of participants and those interested.

The closing day included a lecture delivered by Dr. Luqman Othman Ahmed titled “Legal and Political Governance of Constitutional Institutions: Principles, Mechanisms, and Challenges,” in which he addressed the principles upon which governance in constitutional institutions is based, the legal and political mechanisms necessary to enhance the effectiveness of these institutions, as well as the most prominent challenges facing the application of governance principles in the institutional reality.

Assistant Professor Dr. Shaimaa Abdul Sattar Al-Laila, official of the Rehabilitation, Employment, and Follow-up Unit at the College of Law, also delivered a lecture titled “Legal Governance of Educational Institutions Towards Enhancing Transparency, Integrity, and Accountability,” in which she addressed the role of legal governance in developing the performance of educational institutions, establishing the principles of transparency, integrity, accountability, and the rule of law, and the importance of adopting clear institutional mechanisms that contribute to enhancing efficiency and responsibility and improving the quality of performance.

The lectures of the course witnessed interaction and scientific discussions between the lecturers and participants, which contributed to enriching its topics and highlighting the practical applications of legal and political governance in constitutional and educational institutions.

The holding of this course comes within the framework of the University of Mosul’s keenness to enhance cooperation between its scientific and administrative formations, disseminate the culture of good governance, and develop awareness of the legal and political principles that contribute to building effective institutions based on transparency, integrity, accountability, efficiency, and the rule of law.
