Training Course: Risks of Using Antibiotics in Fattening Calves on Consumer Health

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Waheed Mahmood Al‑Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, and supervised by Prof. Dr. Sevan Saad Al‑Mahmoud, Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, the College of Veterinary Medicine – Department of Veterinary Public Health held a training course titled “Risks of Using Antibiotics in Fattening Calves on Consumer Health”, which will run from March 24–26, 2026.

The course aims to:

  • Introducing antibiotics and clarifying their mechanisms of action
  • Highlight antibiotic residues in meat
  • Shed light on the dangers of antimicrobial resistance
  • Discuss the environmental impacts of antibiotic residues on soil, water, and microorganisms
  • Review of health control regulations
  • Promote proper practices in handling antibiotics

This course contributes to achieving Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well‑Being) and Goal 4 (Quality Education).
