A Master’s thesis presented by Khalid Waleed Mohammed Ali, titled “Molecular Detection of Virulence Genes and Antibiotic Susceptibility of Escherichia coli Associated with Colibacillosis and Diarrhea in Lambs.”

The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Mosul held a defense for the Master’s thesis entitled “Molecular Detection of Virulence Genes and Antibiotic Susceptibility of Escherichia coli Associated with Colibacillosis and Diarrhea in Lambs.” The thesis was presented by Khalid Waleed Mohammed Ali, a postgraduate student in Veterinary Microbiology, on 19 August 2025.

The study investigated colibacillosis in lambs under two months of age, emphasizing the role of major virulence factors in disease pathogenesis and the bacterial response to antimicrobial agents.

The examination committee, chaired by Prof. Dr. Balsam Yahya Rasheed, with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Amer Yahya Hameed, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ihsan Munir Ahmed, and Prof. Dr. Mohammed Ali Hamad (member and supervisor), approved the thesis following a rigorous defense.

This scientific achievement contributes to advancing veterinary microbiology and aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) and Goal 4 (Quality Education).
