The College of Veterinary Medicine, represented by the Student Activities Division – Artistic Unit, in cooperation with the Technological Incubator and Ecosystem Unit at the College and the Department of Studies and Planning / Sustainable Development Unit at the University, organized a student exhibition entitled:

“Recycling and Handicrafts: Veterinary Medicine Innovations”

on Thursday, 16 April 2026.

The exhibition featured a diverse range of student activities and contributions, including innovative handicrafts and recycling projects aimed at repurposing various materials through creative and sustainable approaches. This initiative was organized within the framework of supporting environmental practices and promoting a culture of sustainability among students, given its important role in environmental conservation, waste reduction, and the mitigation of pollution-related impacts, in addition to fostering creativity and practical skills among participants.

The exhibition further reflected the high level of environmental awareness demonstrated by the College’s students and their commitment to employing innovative ideas in transforming used materials into beneficial products. Such efforts are aligned with the University of Mosul’s strategic orientation toward strengthening the principles of sustainable development and environmental responsibility.

These activities are also consistent with the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:

SDG 5: Gender Equality

SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth

SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities

through supporting student engagement, developing creative capacities, and encouraging initiatives that contribute to community service and environmental sustainability.
