Workshop Entitled: “The Risks of Random Disposal of Animal Waste on the Environment”

The Sustainable Development Committee at the College of Veterinary Medicine, in cooperation with the Department of Studies and Planning / Sustainable Development Unit, organized a workshop entitled:

“The Risks of Random Disposal of Animal Waste on the Environment”

on Monday, 4 May 2026.

The workshop was delivered by Professor Dr. Eman Ghanim Suleiman from the Department of Microbiology.

The workshop aimed to:

Introduce the environmental and public health risks associated with the random disposal of animal waste.

Promote awareness regarding the importance of proper waste management practices.

Identify safe and sustainable methods for the disposal of animal waste.

This workshop forms part of a series of activities through which the College seeks to promote a culture of sustainable development, in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:

SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being

SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities

SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production
