On Monday, February 24, 2025, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, with the editors-in-chief of the university’s journals. The meeting was attended by Professor Dr. Munir Salem Taha, Assistant of the President for Scientific Affairs, and Assistant Professor Dr. Muhannad Yaqzan, Director of the Scientific Affairs Department, to discuss ways to develop the university’s scientific journals and implement a roadmap to achieve the highest standards of academic rigor.

During the meeting, the experience of the three journals indexed in Scopus was reviewed, with a special focus on the Veterinary Medicine Journal, which is ranked in the first quartile (Q1) and remains the only journal of its kind in Iraq.

The University President emphasized the importance of supporting the journals by publishing high-quality research, encouraging collaboration with international researchers and the university’s sponsored students, and enhancing the university’s scientific standing.
