College in Brief

The College of Agriculture and Forestry was established in the summer of 1964 as the College of Agriculture and Forestry, after it was decided to transfer the Higher Forest Institute – in Abu Ghraib / Baghdad – to the cultural group in Mosul and develop it to a college to teach other agricultural sciences, as well as forestry. The College of Agriculture and Forestry was affiliated to the University of Baghdad from its foundation until April 1, 1967, on the same day, the University of Mosul was an establishment, the College of Agriculture and Forestry became one of its faculties. Read more

The Department of Economics was a branch of the Department of Agriculture. On 1/8/1973, the Department was independent under the name of the Department of Economics and Agricultural Extension. Read more

MemberThe Agricultural Extension Department was established in 1973 under the name of the Department of Economics and Agricultural Extension. In 1979 it became the Department of Teacher Training and Agricultural Extension, and in 1987 deanship abolished the Department of Teacher Training. . Read more

MemberIn the academic year 1986-1987, the Department was established within the Faculty of Engineering. It continued until 1990, when the Department was transferred to the Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry in Hammam Al-Alil. Read more

Member The department was established since the establishment of the College of Agriculture and Forestry in 1964 under the name of the Department of Animal Resources; then, it was replaced by the Department of Animal Production and Veterinary Medicine after merging the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine.. Field Crops DepartmentDepartment establishing:The College of Agriculture and Forestry was established in 1964. The field crops sciences were taught within the Department of Plant Production, and on 31- July-1973 the Department of Field Crops was established. Read more

10-In 1964, with the start of the College of Agriculture and Forestry establishment, deanship planned to establish the Department of Food Industries. The dairy factory was established in 1965 under the Livestock Division. Read more

Member The Department of Forestry was established with the College of Agriculture and Forestry – the University of Mosul in 1964 after the Higher Forestry Institute was transferred from Abu Ghraib / Baghdad to Mosul, established in 1959 at the University of Baghdad. Read more

The College of Agriculture and Forestry was established in 1964. One of its departments was the Plant Production Department, where horticultural lessons were taught as part of its academic subjects. In 1969, the Department of Agriculture was established, and horticulture was one of its branches, as horticultural subjects were taught in it. In July of 1973, the Horticulture and Food Industries Department was created. The Department of Horticulture was separated from the Food Industry in July 1974.Read more

Member The Plant Protection Department was initially established in 1966 as a division within the Plant Production Department. After the University of Mosul was established in 1967, the division developed into a branch of plant protection, and it included the two divisions of plant diseases and insects. Read more

The emergence of the department and its development:The foundation of the Department of Soil Sciences and Water Resources in our college dates back to 1969 when one of the six departments that had one specialization was plant production within the College of Agriculture and Forestry affiliated to the University of Mosul.
