A Pioneering Step Toward Economic Empowerment… College of Administration and Economics Holds a Specialized Workshop on Turning Ideas into Successful Projects

The Qualification, Employment, and Follow-up Unit at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, organized a distinguished scientific workshop on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, titled:
“From Idea to Project: How to Start Your Own Business with Limited Capital”, held in Hall No. (2).
The workshop was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Mohammed Jassim Al-Khafaji, with the attendance of a select group of college students, particularly fourth-year students, along with participants from various academic departments.
The workshop covered key topics centered on the concept of small businesses from an economic perspective, distinguishing between an idea and a project, and mechanisms for selecting a feasible and practical idea. It also addressed the steps involved in conducting an initial market analysis, estimating costs and revenues, calculating expected profitability, and ultimately preparing a preliminary feasibility study and identifying startup requirements.
Additionally, the workshop focused on developing students’ entrepreneurial skills and empowering them to make well-informed decisions when choosing their future projects, thereby enhancing their chances of success and sustainability in today’s business environment.
This event comes as part of the college’s ongoing efforts to equip its students with practical skills and to promote a culture of self-employment and entrepreneurship, in alignment with market demands and in pursuit of building a generation capable of innovation and productivity.
