The Department of Accounting at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, Leads an Academic Dialogue on Accounting Education and Artificial Intelligence Technologies

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Administration and Economics, Professor Dr. Sinan Zuhair Mohammed Jameel, and with the follow-up of the Head of the Accounting Department, Professor Dr. Ziyad Hashim Al-Saqqa, the Department of Accounting organized a scientific workshop entitled:
“Accounting Education in Light of Artificial Intelligence Technologies”
The workshop was held on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at 1:00 PM in Laboratory No. (1) of the department.
The lecture was delivered by Professor Dr. Luqman Mohammed Ayoub, who addressed the current state of accounting education, along with the challenges and aspirations it faces amid the rapid advancement of information technology and artificial intelligence. He also highlighted the importance of keeping pace with these developments by updating curricula and enhancing academic skills.
The workshop was attended by the Dean of the College and the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Salem Khalil Khaled, in addition to several faculty members from the Department of Accounting. The session concluded with rich scientific discussions, reflecting the participants’ strong interest in improving the quality of accounting education and aligning it with the demands of the digital era.
This workshop comes as part of the ongoing efforts of the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul to support academic development and keep up with modern trends, contributing to the preparation of graduates capable of adapting to rapid technological transformations.
