College of Administration and Economics Council – University of Mosul Holds its 21st Session: Consolidating the Culture of Peer-Reviewed International Publishing and Monitoring Academic Pathways

In framework of its continuous endeavors toward enhancing academic excellence and consolidating the culture of quality and scientific research, the College of Administration and Economics – University of Mosul held its 21st regular session for the academic year 2025–2026, on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at the College’s Deanship headquarters, chaired by Professor Dr. Sinan Zuhair Mohammed Jamil, Dean of the College, and attended by the vice deans, heads of scientific departments, and several relevant administrative department and unit heads.

​The session witnessed discussions on a number of important academic and administrative files that align with the college’s orientations aimed at elevating institutional performance and enhancing its scientific status at both local and international levels.

​In the scientific aspect, the Council emphasized the importance of boosting the research output of the faculty members and supporting publication in reputable international repositories, while stressing the need for thorough verification when selecting internationally recognized scientific journals, ensuring they align with the college’s scientific specializations, maintain the quality and academic credibility of published research, and enhance the college’s presence in global databases and rankings.

​The Council also discussed several issues related to student affairs, particularly requests for transfers, academic deferrals, and duration extensions for postgraduate students, in accordance with applicable university regulations and instructions, ensuring a balance between academic standards and the exceptional circumstances that warrant consideration.

​The session concluded with the review of minutes from the scientific departments and a detailed discussion of their contents, within the framework of fostering integration between academic and administrative units, and consolidating the principles of transparency and institutional work, which contributes to supporting sustainable strategic planning and achieving the college’s goals in academic and research excellence.

​These orientations align with the fourth goal of the Sustainable Development Goals (Quality Education), through supporting the quality of higher education and scientific research, and fostering an academic environment capable of producing knowledge, contributing to sustainable development, and serving the community.
