The Department of Industrial Management at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul Discusses a Higher Diploma Thesis on the Role of the Quality of Center Pivot Irrigation Systems in Achieving Sustainable Agricultural Production

The Department of Industrial Management at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, held the defense of a Higher Diploma thesis on Monday, March 9, 2026.
The thesis, titled:
“The Role of the Dimensions of Center Pivot Irrigation System Quality in Achieving Sustainable Agricultural Production: A Field Study at the State Company for Agricultural Supplies / Nineveh Branch,”
was presented by the student Neama Hussein Rashid Al-Rawi.
The study aimed to analyze the pivotal role of the quality dimensions of irrigation systems in achieving sustainable agricultural development across its economic, environmental, and social dimensions. It also sought to develop a roadmap for improving water resource efficiency and enhancing the quality of agricultural production in Iraq through the adoption of modern irrigation techniques, particularly in light of the growing water challenges.
The study highlighted several key findings, including:
The existence of a significant positive correlation and impact between the quality of center pivot irrigation systems and the improvement of sustainable agricultural production levels.
The results showed that performance efficiency and perceived quality are the most influential dimensions in achieving the sustainability of agricultural production.
The study recommended adopting smart predictive maintenance systems to reduce system failures and resource waste, in addition to raising farmers’ awareness of the importance of implementing modern irrigation technologies.
