The University of Mosul / College of Administration and Economics – Department of Industrial Management hosted, on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, the defense of a Higher Diploma thesis in Hall (2207) at the Department of Marketing.
The thesis, titled:
“Circular Economy Strategies and Their Role in Reducing Waste,”
was presented by the student Raghad Abdulghafour Fathi.
The study aimed to examine the role of circular economy strategies in reducing waste. It sought to introduce the respondents to the concept of the circular economy, its importance, and its key strategies. In addition, the research clarified the concept of waste reduction, measured the availability of the study variables within the researched company, and analyzed both the impact and the correlation between circular economy strategies and waste reduction. The study also proposed several recommendations to support the implementation of these strategies in ways that positively contribute to minimizing waste.
The study reached several key findings, most notably:
There is a significant relationship between the application of circular economy strategies and the level of waste reduction, indicating their direct role in improving resource management efficiency within organizations.
Implementing these strategies helps reduce waste in production processes by promoting reuse and the optimal utilization of available resources.
Adopting circular economy strategies in an integrated manner—rather than applying them individually—enhances the explanatory power of the research model and leads to more effective environmental outcomes.
