As part of its active academic role and strong presence in higher education, Professor Dr. Numeir Ameer Al-Sayegh, a faculty member in the Department of Finance and Banking at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, participated in a ministerial committee formed by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to evaluate the establishment of a PhD program in the Department of Finance and Banking at the College of Administration and Economics, Al-Mustansiriya University.
This participation took place on Monday, April 6, 2026, alongside a distinguished group of academics from the University of Tikrit, Middle Technical University, and the Iraqi University, as part of the Ministry’s efforts to develop postgraduate programs and enhance their quality.
During the visit, the committee reviewed the department’s academic and human resources, as well as its infrastructure. The department staff delivered a detailed presentation demonstrating the fulfillment of the requirements for launching the PhD program, followed by a field tour that included classrooms and supporting academic facilities.
The committee’s findings are expected to be submitted to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to make an appropriate decision regarding the program’s approval. This step reflects the direction of academic institutions toward expanding postgraduate programs and improving the quality of higher education in Iraq.
This participation highlights the role of the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul as a center of academic expertise that actively contributes to advancing academic development across Iraqi universities.
