A Specialized Lecture Highlighting the Skills Gap Between Education and the Modern Labor Market – College of Administration and Economics / University of Mosul

Under the direction of Professor Dr. Sinan Zuhair Mohammed Jameel, Dean of the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul, the Rehabilitation, Employment, and Follow-up Unit organized a scientific lecture on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, titled:
“Bridging the Skills Gap Between Academic Outputs and the Requirements of Modern Industry.”
The lecture was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Omar Saeed Abdullah, who discussed the key challenges facing higher education graduates in keeping pace with labor market demands. He also highlighted the most important core and emerging skills required by today’s industrial environment.
The lecture aimed to familiarize students with the skills needed in modern industry and to raise their awareness of the importance of developing their practical and technical abilities, thereby enhancing their readiness to effectively integrate into the labor market.
This event comes as part of the college’s ongoing efforts to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical application, and to support students in acquiring the skills necessary to keep up with the rapid transformations in the business and industrial environment.
