Discussion of Doctoral Dissertation on Utilizing AI Technologies to Enhance Financial Report Analysis in the Accounting Department, College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul

The Accounting Department at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, discussed on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 doctoral dissertation titled “Using Artificial Intelligence Technologies to Improve Financial Report Analysis (A Proposed Model),” presented by the student Luay Qais Abdullah, in Discussion Hall No. (2).
The dissertation aimed to measure the extent to which artificial intelligence technologies can enhance the accuracy and efficiency of financial report analysis. It also highlighted their role in supporting investment decisions by simplifying analytical processes and saving time and effort for investors and decision-makers.
The dissertation arrived at several conclusions, most notably that employing artificial intelligence technologies in financial and accounting fields helps shift the accountant’s role from executing traditional tasks to performing strategic and analytical value-adding roles. Furthermore, the results showed that the Iraqi Financial Analytics Platform effectively contributed to reading and analyzing textual financial reports, as well as analyzing numerical data and tables, thereby enhancing the quality of financial analysis and the accuracy of its outputs.
