Prof. Qusay Al-Ahmedy, Rector of University of Mosul, receives Deputy of UN Secretary General Representative, Ms. Alice Walpole, and Ms. Zahrah Tabouri, Director of UN Office/ Nineveh, in his office, on February 5, 2020.Discussions in their meeting focused on the important role of the University in serving the people of Nineveh, and in establishing peaceful coexistence among its local communities. Prof. Al-Ahmedy emphasized the University’s commitment in supporting these goals through holding forums and workshops that pave the way to achieve them. Also, he asserted that the University is a miniature of Iraq, capacitating all Iraqi communities, and that every and each community is free to hold varied activities and events that belong to them. At last, Prof. Al-Ahmedy shown the University’s readiness to cooperate with the UN in this respect.Then, the delegation took a tour in the campus, visiting the Greenhouses project, and the two Lamasu site, by the gate of the Students’ Center.
