Prof. Dr. Bayar Jaafar Silivany and Prof. Dr. Suhail Idris Khattab of Department of Civil Engineering, College of Engineering, jointly with their Geo-Technique PhD scholar, Tariq Hassan Mohammed of Nineveh Housing Office obtained a patent from the Iraqi Central Office for Standardization and Quality Control. Their patent is registered within the Iraqi Classification by no. 20, and within the International Classification by the code: E02D17/20.The patent was granted for their making of an empirical model for the study of the stability of slopes for unsaturated soils under the effect of dynamic loads. It is worthwhile that the model was test for working and precision and proved to be compatible, and the results obtained, compared with standard ones registered by existing models like GEO STUDIO, found parallel.
