Prof. Dr. Faris Thannoon al-Abachi of College of Pharmacy obtained an accolade from the 2nd Al-Noor International Exhibition for Science and Technology held at University of Kaywan, Sulaimaniyah, Iraq on May 26-27th, 2021.The participation of al-Abachi and his research team, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Khidr Ahmed and Prof. Dr. Muayad Jasim Mohammed of Department of Chemistry, College of Pure Sciences, was with the patent they registered no. 5966 titled (Preparation of some Pyrimidine Compounds for the Treatment of Kidney Cancer). It is worthwhile that tests of efficacy of the medication were conducted at the American National Cancer Institute, NCI, Maryland, USA and proved promising, according to officials.
