On Sunday, February 9, 2025, the Dry and Conservation Agriculture Research Center at the University of Mosul held its scientific seminar on genetic modification, genetic engineering and cloning.

Part of it was attended by Prof. Dr. Munir Salem Taha, Assistant to the President of the University for Scientific Affairs.
It included three themes, including the concepts of the origin
of life and its fate from genetics, evolution and extinction to genetic engineering, genetically modified seeds, methods of genetic modification and how to detect and infer them, and alternatives to genetic engineering.
It also included a session for discussions and reading the most important recommendations.
