The First Meeting of the Industrial Advisory Board at the College of Pharmacy – University of Mosul

The Industrial Advisory Board at the College of Pharmacy – University of Mosul held its first meeting for the year 2025 on Tuesday, June 3, 2025. The meeting was attended by Professor Dr. Yasser Fakhri Mustafa, Dean of the College of Pharmacy, several representatives from the pharmaceutical industry, and faculty members from the college. The meeting aimed to strengthen cooperation between the two parties and align academic learning outcomes with labor market requirements.

Meeting Agenda:

The Board discussed the following topics during the meeting:

  1. Analysis of the labor market requirements in the pharmaceutical industry.
  2. Review of the academic program description, intended learning outcomes, curricula, and training programs.
  3. Discussion of future initiatives to develop the college and enhance its connection with the pharmaceutical sector.

First: Aligning Educational Outcomes with the Labor Market

  1. Keeping up with recent developments and employment requirements in the pharmaceutical industry.
  2. Preparing graduates with skills in lifelong learning and creative thinking.

  4. Periodically updating curricula based on industry developments.

Second: Curriculum and Training Development

  1. Introducing students to job requirements in the pharmaceutical industry.
  2. Including intensive practical training in pharmaceutical factories.
  3. Involving industry professionals in university activities to present challenges and propose solutions.
  4. Supporting applied research related to factory issues.
  5. Developing postgraduate programs tailored to the pharmaceutical industry.
  6. Organizing joint workshops and career fairs.
  7. Establishing consulting and training units in collaboration with pharmaceutical companies.
  8. Enhancing institutional cooperation and offering free pharmaceutical consultations.
