Active Participation by Faculty Members from the College of Pharmacy, University of Mosul, at the Annual International Conference of the University of Birmingham

Assistant Professor Dr. Omar Abdul-Hakim Hamid and Assistant Professor Dr. Zaid Muwaffaq Younus, in collaboration with Master’s student (Pharmacist) Farah Abdul-Ahad, actively participated by presenting their research paper titled:
> “Development and Characterization of Quince Seed Mucilage–Alginate Hydrogel Films for Wound Dressing Applications”

This presentation took place at the annual international conference of the UK Society for Biomaterials (UKSB 2026), hosted by the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom, from July 9–10, 2026.
The conference featured wide participation from researchers, academics, and specialists worldwide in the fields of biomaterials, tissue engineering, and regenerative medicine. The event included scientific sessions and specialized lectures highlighting the latest advancements and research innovations in this vital domain.
This participation aligns with the College of Pharmacy’s commitment to enhancing its scientific footprint in international forums, fostering academic and research collaboration with global institutions, and staying abreast of state-of-the-art technologies and developments that advance scientific research and elevate the College’s academic profile.
The participants emphasized that the conference provided a valuable platform for knowledge exchange and networking with distinguished international scientists and researchers, paving the way for future collaborative projects and enhancing the University’s standing in global scientific communities.
