The College of Pharmacy at the University of Mosul Enhances Student Competencies Through Practical Clinical Training in Teaching Hospitals
In line with its commitment to advancing pharmaceutical education outcomes and enhancing clinical and practical skills, the College of Pharmacy continues to execute its practical training program for fifth-year students across five teaching hospitals in Mosul: Ibn Sina, Al-Salam, Al-Jamhoori, Al-Khansaa, and Ibn Al-Atheer. This initiative serves to fulfill the field training requirements for the final academic stage.
The program is conducted under the supervision of the College Deanship, in continuous coordination with the Nineveh Health Directorate. It is managed by the Head of the Clinical Pharmacy Department, with the active participation of all department faculty members, to ensure seamless integration between academic instruction and clinical practice while instilling the foundations of professional pharmaceutical care in students.
The training program encompasses rounds across hospital wards, emergency and outpatient pharmacies, inpatient pharmacy departments, and pharmaceutical supply warehouses. It aims to familiarize students with operational workflows in healthcare institutions, enable them to acquire practical experience across various pharmaceutical disciplines, and allow them to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world clinical settings, thereby enhancing their career readiness.
This program reflects the College of Pharmacy’s commitment to cultivating student competencies, honing their professional capabilities, and preparing academically and practically qualified personnel capable of making impactful contributions to the healthcare system and elevating the quality of pharmaceutical care.
