In pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals—Goal Sixteen: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, and Goal Seventeen: Partnerships for the Goals—and in cooperation with the Department of Studies and Planning / Sustainable Development Unit; late on a cold winter night, when silence had settled over the surroundings, the President of the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimy, broke the stillness with a sudden inspection tour on Thursday evening, 22 January 2026.

The tour included the Colleges of Science, Computer Science and Mathematics, Administration and Economics, and Dentistry. He was accompanied by a number of members of the University Council, including the Dean of the College of Political Science, Assistant Professor Dr. Suhaib Khalid Jassim Al-Taie.

The visit aimed to inspect the corridors of the colleges and the guard posts, to ensure that the cold weather had not affected the vigilance of the watchful eyes safeguarding the university. The delegation commended the staff for their presence at their posts despite the harsh weather and the late hour, affirming that the university takes pride in those who turn their night into day in service of the public good.
