The College of Political Science Secures a New Sporting Accomplishment in the Chess Tournament

Under the patronage of Assistant Professor Dr. Suhaib Khalid Jassim Al-Taie, Dean of the College of Political Science, and the supervision of Lecturer Dr. Omar Abdulaziz, Head of the Student Activities Division at our college, the College of Political Science women’s chess team secured a victory against their counterparts from the College of Archaeology in the University of Mosul Chess Championship (for female students). The tournament was hosted by the College of Education for Pure Science on Monday, April 6, 2026.

The college team was proudly represented by first-year students Rawaa Ali and Deera Mohammed. The significance of this sports competition lies in its alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4: Quality Education, Goal 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
