In pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4: Quality Education, the Babylon Center for Humanities Studies published a joint scientific research paper by the lecturers of the College of Political Science, University of Mosul: Lecturer Dr. Maha Ahmed Ibrahim, Lecturer Basma Mohammed Nadhir, and Lecturer Shahbaa Hikmat Elias, entitled: “Evaluating the Effectiveness of Government Policies in Reconstruction and Achieving Sustainable Development in Nineveh Governorate: An Applied Field Study.” The research was published in Volume 16, Issue 7 (July 2026).

The research examined the effectiveness of government policies in the reconstruction of Nineveh Governorate and the extent to which they contribute to achieving sustainable development, highlighting the major challenges facing reconstruction projects. The findings revealed disparities in the community’s benefit from reconstruction projects, as well as the limited contribution of some projects to creating sustainable employment opportunities. The research concluded that enhancing the efficiency of government policies, strategic planning, and community participation is essential to ensuring sustainable and equitable reconstruction in the governorate.
