Dean of the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul, Assistant Professor Dr. Suhaib Khalid Jassim Al-Taie, Attends Part of a Master’s Thesis Defense at the College of Law on the Complementarity between Human Rights and Democracy in Building a Sustainable Society

In pursuit of Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education, the Dean of the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul, Assistant Professor Dr. Suhaib Khalid Jassim Al-Taie, attended part of a Master’s thesis defense at the College of Law on “The Complementarity between Human Rights and Democracy in Building a Sustainable Society,” on Sunday 6 September 2026.

The defense committee consisted of Professor Dr. Lubna Khamis Mahdi, Director General of the Research and Development Department at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, as Chair; Professor Dr. Mohammed Younis Al-Sayegh, as Member; Lecturer Dr. Saad Salem Sultan, as Member; and Professor Dr. Rafal Hassan Hamed, Assistant President for Administrative Affairs at the University, as Member and Supervisor.

The thesis examined the complementary relationship between human rights and democracy in building a sustainable society in light of the Constitution of the Republic of Iraq of 2005. It addressed the concepts and constitutional foundations of human rights and democracy, analyzed the extent to which they are enshrined in the Constitution, and examined their impact on the realization of rights and freedoms.
