A Research Publication by a Lecturer from the College of Political Science Department of Public Policy

The Tikrit Journal of Political Science published a scientific research paper by the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs at the College of Political Science, University of Mosul, Dr. Khairallah Subhan Al-Jubouri, on 30 September 2024.

The research, titled “Primary Communities and Their Impact on the Attitudes of Academic Elites at the University of Mosul: The 2023 Provincial Council Elections as a Model,” discussed how these communities shape the views and priorities of academic elites and how this, in turn, influences the electoral process and local political decisions.

The research aimed to explore the potential impact of primary communities on the attitudes of academic elites at the University of Mosul, measuring the extent, patterns, and ways of interaction, with a particular focus on the 2023 Provincial Council elections. This was done through a survey of opinions from a professional sample on the subject.

The research concluded that the community in Nineveh Governorate still relies on traditional methods, particularly in politics and electoral behavior, due to the presence of entrenched primary communities represented by stable tribal systems and networks.

Congratulations to the College for this diligent scientific effort in the service of our country, city, and university. May God grant continued success.
