The Anti-Violence Against Women Campaign at the College of Political Science University of Mosul Continues with Its Seventh Scientific Workshop

The Anti-Violence Against Women Campaign at the College of Political Science, University of Mosul, continues successfully into its second week. On Wednesday, 4 December 2024, the seventh scientific workshop was held.

The workshop addressed two main topics: the importance of education in protecting women from violence, including a case study of a girl from Pakistan who became a United Nations Peace Ambassador through her advocacy for girls’ education in her country. Additionally, the workshop discussed the protection of women within legislative mechanisms in Islamic jurisprudence and law. Both lectures were delivered by Dr. Afraa Riyadh Mohammed, with Assistant Lecturer Basma Mohammed Nadhir serving as the session moderator.

The workshop is part of the campaign launched by the Women’s Affairs Committee under the patronage of the university president and the supervision of the college dean. The campaign began on Sunday, 24 November 2024, and extends over sixteen days.
