The Assistant Professor Dr. Tareq Mohammed Tayeb Thahir, Dean of the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul, chaired a meeting with the scientific departments to discuss the final preparations for the upcoming visit of the Ministerial Institutional Accreditation Committee on Tuesday, 11 February 2025.

The meeting emphasized the necessity of completing all ongoing tasks related to the accreditation process, ensuring that the departmental councils remain in continuous session, maintaining direct communication with the university presidency (either in person or electronically), and fulfilling all necessary requirements to meet the required standards. The importance of adhering to academic quality standards and highlighting the college’s strengths was stressed to ensure positive outcomes during the committee’s visit. Faculty members were instructed to prepare the required documents and be fully ready to respond to the visiting committee’s inquiries.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Dean commended the efforts of both the academic and administrative staff, especially during these critical hours and days. He affirmed that institutional accreditation represents a significant step towards strengthening the academic standing of both the college and the university at local, national, and regional levels. The meeting was attended by department heads, their deputies, as well as faculty members.
