In alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—Goal 4: Quality Education and Goal 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions—and in cooperation with the Department of Studies and Planning / Sustainable Development Unit at the Presidency of the University of Mosul, a joint research paper authored by Assistant Professor Dr. Younis Muayyad Younis, a faculty member in the Department of International Relations at the College of Political Science, has been published under the title:

“Trump and the Middle East: From Peace Through Strength to the Redrawing of Spheres of Influence”

The paper was published in the International Relations Journal, issued by the International Relations Academy, Istanbul, Türkiye, in Volume 4, Issue 13, 13 July 2026.

The study examines the defining features of United States foreign policy toward the Middle East during the administration of President Donald Trump by analyzing the doctrine of “Peace Through Strength” and its implications for regional power dynamics. It further explores how this strategic approach contributed to the reconfiguration of regional spheres of influence and alliance structures, thereby offering a deeper theoretical understanding of contemporary geopolitical transformations and their impact on regional security and stability.

The Deanship of the College extends its sincere congratulations on this distinguished scholarly achievement and wishes the researcher continued success and excellence in advancing the academic mission of the College of Political Science and the University of Mosul as a whole.
