Dean of the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul, Assistant Professor Dr. Suhaib Khalid Jasim Al-Taie, Delivers a Lecture on Rejecting Violence and Promoting Peace at a Training Workshop Organized by the UNESCO Chair

In pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal Four: Quality Education, and Goal Sixteen: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, and in cooperation with the Department of Studies and Planning/ Sustainable Development Unit (at the Presidency of the University of Mosul), the UNESCO Chair organized its awareness-raising training workshop entitled “Rejecting Violence and Achieving Community Peace” on Sunday, 30 August 2026. The workshop consisted of one lecture delivered by the Dean of the College of Political Science, Assistant Professor Dr. Suhaib Khalid Jasim Al-Taie.
The workshop aimed to promote a culture of peace, tolerance, dialogue, and acceptance of others, while strengthening the values of peaceful coexistence and social harmony. It also sought to raise awareness of the dangers of violence and extremism and their impact on society, as well as to highlight mechanisms for reducing them and preventing their causes.
The workshop concluded that academic institutions have an important role in consolidating political and social awareness and promoting stability and community peace through integrated academic and societal efforts to counter extremist ideas and reinforce the values of constructive dialogue, thereby contributing to building a safe and stable society.
