College of Political Science at the University of Mosul Holds Its First Council Meeting for the 2026–2027 Academic Year

In pursuit of Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education, the Council of the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul held its first meeting for the 2026–2027 academic year on Thursday, 3 September 2026.

The Council discussed the College’s requirements for the study plan for the 2027–2028 academic year. It also emphasized the importance of encouraging the teaching staff to publish their research in international databases, particularly Scopus and Clarivate, as well as the need to update the College Guide. Regarding postgraduate students’ thesis and dissertation defenses, the Council reviewed the directives issued by the University Presidency stressing that defense sessions should be strictly academic and that the attendance of relatives and friends should not be permitted.

The meeting was chaired by the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Suhaib Khalid Jassim Al-Taie, and attended by the Scientific and Administrative Assistants, Assistant Professor Dr. Younis Muayad Younis and Assistant Professor Dr. Marwan Salim Ali. It was also attended by the Heads of the Departments of International Relations and Public Policy, Professor Dr. Hazim Hamad Musa and Professor Dr. Waleed Salim Mohammed, respectively; the Council Rapporteur, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Hazim Hamed; and the representative of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate/Nineveh Branch, Lecturer Dr. Firas Mohammed Elias.
