In pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals, Goal Four: Quality Education, Goal Sixteen: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, and Goal Seventeen: Partnerships for the Goals, and in cooperation with the Department of Studies and Planning / Sustainable Development Unit at the University Presidency, the University Computer Center, in cooperation with the Electronic Publishing Division and the Sustainable Development Unit at the University Presidency, organized a workshop entitled “Publishing and Managing Sustainable Development News” on Tuesday, 20 October 2026.

The workshop was attended by the authorized representatives of the colleges’, research centers’ and departments’ websites, as well as their sustainable development focal points. Representing the College of Political Science were Hasan Younis Abdullah, Senior Chief Engineer First and Head of the Government Media and Communications Division, who is the authorized administrator of the College’s official Arabic and English websites, and Rana Fadil Ahmed, Senior Chief Administrative Officer First and Head of the Studies and Planning Division, who serves as the College’s sustainable development focal point.

The workshop discussed the need to unify publishing policies and procedures across university websites in line with internationally recognized standards. It also addressed mechanisms for uploading and classifying content and linking it to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), emphasizing the accuracy of information and the quality of its documentation. Furthermore, it highlighted the importance of maintaining continuous communication between authorized website administrators and sustainable development focal points to exchange views and updates, thereby showcasing the efforts of the University’s colleges and institutions and strengthening its presence in relevant international indicators and rankings.
