The College of Veterinary Medicine, in collaboration with the Department of Studies and Planning / Sustainable Development Unit, organized a training course entitled “Laboratory Animal Handling Safety Course”, held from June 21 to 24, 2026.

The course aimed to:

Introduce the principles of biosafety when handling laboratory animals.

Develop the correct skills for safely and humanely handling and transporting laboratory animals.

Prevent injuries and zoonotic diseases transmitted between animals and humans.

Familiarize participants with personal protective equipment (PPE) and its proper use.

Promote adherence to ethical guidelines and scientific standards for the use of animals in research and experimental studies.

This course contributes to achieving Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3: Good Health and Well-being, SDG 4: Quality Education, and SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth.
