Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, chaired the tenth session of the University Council meeting for the 2024-2025 academic year on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, in the presence of all council members.

During the session, several topics were discussed, including completing the necessary procedures to activate steps contributing to obtaining institutional accreditation. Additionally, a set of measures was presented to transition some colleges to the Bologna System, benefiting from the expertise available in the Colleges of Engineering and Science.

The council also directed a review of the restructuring and establishment of departments and branches to meet professional and service needs while ensuring that each department has a defined job description.

The university president praised the efforts of the Central Promotions Committee in completing promotion applications, which had a positive impact on the university. He also emphasized the importance of flexibility in handling faculty promotion applications in academic departments while adhering to legal regulations.

Furthermore, the council discussed various topics and additional files included in the session’s agenda, addressing them in accordance with applicable rules and regulations.
