The Department of Industrial Management at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, Discusses a PhD Dissertation on the Role of Toyota Culture in Improving Operational Performance

The College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul / Department of Industrial Management hosted, on Tuesday (March 31, 2026), in Discussion Hall No. (1), the defense of a PhD dissertation entitled:
“The Moderating Role of Toyota Culture in the Relationship Between Supply Chain Waste Reduction and Operational Performance: A Field Study at Karunji Company for the Production of Soft Drinks, Bottled Water, Juices, Dairy Products, and Energy Drinks Ltd.”
Presented by the student: Ibrahim Khalil Ibrahim Al-Obaidi.
The study aimed to examine the moderating role of Toyota culture in the relationship between supply chain waste reduction and operational performance, through a field study conducted at Karunji Company for beverage production.
Key findings of the study include:
Toyota culture, as a moderating variable, enhances the overall impact of supply chain waste reduction.
Activating operational performance practices strengthens the relationship between waste reduction and operational performance.
This supports directing waste reduction decisions toward better alignment with operational performance requirements, contributing to improved efficiency and output quality.
