On Monday, February 15, 2021, the President of the University of Mosul, Prof. Dr. Qusay Kamal Al-Din Al-Ahmadi inaugurated the faculty apiary of the Plant Protection Department after its rehabilitation. The apiary opening was attended by the Dean of the College, Dr. Muhammad Yunus Al-Allaf, and members of the College Board.Prof. Dr. Muzahim Al-Sayegh (the supervisor of the apiary) gave a full explanation to the president of the university about all the tasks that were carried out in the apiary, which was destroyed during the control of ISIS gangs over the province of Nineveh. The destruction included plundering all cells, which included the strong Iraqi hybrid strain, which was tolerant to local conditions.After the liberation of the city and as a result of the concerted efforts of everyone, especially the presidency of the university, the deanship of the faculty, and the head of the department, rehabilitation operations were initiated at the new site.On the other hand, the Dean of the College thanked and appreciated the Presidency of the University for its continuous support in implementing these projects, which serve to research the department’s employees, graduate, and undergraduate students.
