The College of Agriculture and Forestry was established in the summer of 1964 as the College of Agriculture and Forestry after it was decided to transfer the Higher Forest Institute – in Abu Ghraib / Baghdad – to the cultural group in Mosul and develop it into a college to teach other agricultural sciences, as well as forestry. The College of Agriculture and Forestry was affiliated with the University of Baghdad from its foundation until April 1, 1967; on the same day the University of Mosul was established, the College of Agriculture and Forestry became one of its faculties.
