Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younis Al-Allaf (Dean of the College of Agriculture and Forestry) and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Alaa Hashem Al-Tai (Head of the Department), the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture held an electronic scientific workshop entitled “Clean Agriculture towards Sustainable Agriculture and a Clean Environment.”The speakers for this workshop:Prof. Dr. Jassim Muhammad Alwan Al-Araji (Lecturer in the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture)Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ali Badawy (Professor at the Agricultural Research Center in Egypt)Prof. Zakaria Fouad Fawzy (Professor at the Agricultural Research Center in Egypt)Asst. Prof. Dr. Iyad Hani Al-Allaf (Lecturer in the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture).The workshop aimed to demonstrate the importance of organic agriculture and its relationship to sustainable development by reducing environmental pollution resulting from chemical pesticides and reducing health risks, especially for pesticide users. In addition to improving the environment, food security, preserving the environment within sustainable agriculture, maintaining no loss of nutrients from agricultural soil, improving soil fertility, saving energy, and increasing biodiversity.
