A Ph.D. thesis was discussed in the Department of Field Crops/ College of Agriculture and Forestry / University of Mosul for the student (Azhar Idris Thanoun) on Sunday, September 24, 2023. Thesis title (The effect of planting distances and weed control on the growth and yield of two varieties of field peas, Pisum sativum L., and the accompanying bushes). Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younis Al-Allaf (Dean of the College) and Dr. Shihab Ahmed Al-Bajari (Dean of the Northern Agricultural Technical College) attended part of the discussion.

The thesis dealt with a study of the effect of planting distances and the effect of the chemical control of the pesticide bazakran on the accompanying bushes on the growth and yield of two varieties of the pea crop. The study touched on the characteristics of the bush and the characteristics of growth and yield and aimed to achieve the best planting distances in the pea crop and the best weed control rate from the concentration of the pesticide on the pea crop. The bushes accompany the pea crop, achieving the highest seed yield and determining the best variety in terms of tolerance to the environmental conditions of the pea crop.
