A Ph.D. thesis was discussed in the Department of Field Crops/ College of Agriculture and Forestry / University of Mosul for the student (Zahraa Abdul Rahman Sabri Al-Mashhadani) on Monday, April 22, 2024. Thesis title (Genetic analysis in yellow maize (Zea mays L.) with a factorial mating system at different planting dates.). Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younis Al-Allaf (Dean of the College), Prof. Dr. Shihab Ahmed Al-Bajari( Dean of the Northern Agricultural Technical College), and several college teachers attended part of the discussion.
The thesis aims to study the evaluation of 10 pure strains of yellow corn, in addition to the commercial variety, at different planting dates and estimate the genetic action and the effects of general and specific abilities on the union of the pure strains and their hybrids, as well as estimate the components of phenotypic variation and partition the genetic variation into its components (additive and dominant).

Then, the discussion committee read the decision, which included acceptance of the thesis and awarded the student a Ph.D. degree.
