A master’s thesis was discussed in the Department of Plant Protection/ College of Agriculture and Forestry / University of Mosul for the student (Zainab Adel Abdel Qader) on Thursday, May 16, 2024. The thesis title was (Pathogenicity of the fungus Rhizoctonia solani, which causes root rot and death of cucumber seedlings, and methods of controlling it). Prof. Dr. Ali Farouk Al-Maadidi (Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs ) attended a part of the discussion.
The study aimed to screen some cucumber varieties for infection with the pathogen and to study the best ways to reduce the incidence of the disease using chemical and biological methods.

The discussion committee consisted of:

4. Dr. Ali Hamoud Thanoun … (Member and supervisor).
Then, the discussion committee read the decision, which included acceptance of the thesis and awarding the student an M.Sc. degree.
