Discussion of a Master’s Thesis in the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Engineering

A master’s thesis was discussed in the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Engineering/ College of Agriculture and Forestry / University of Mosul for the student (Shahed Ahmed Saadoun) on Sunday, September 17, 2023. Thesis title (the role of spraying with gibberellic acid GA3 and Nauta fertilizer on the growth and mineral content of three varieties of grapes, Vitis vinifera L.). The study aims to study the effect of foliar fertilization of Nauta organic fertilizer, especially at a concentration of 250 mg/L, on a significant increase in the rate of height and diameter of the main stem, the area of one leaf, the leaf area of the seedling, the concentration of chlorophyll in the leaves, the wet and dry weight of the leaves, and the concentration of nitrogen in the leaf petioles, as well as the superiority of The foliar spraying treatment with a concentration of 500 mg/L of the same fertilizer increased the concentration of carbohydrates in the main stem and protein, and the concentration of phosphorus and iron in the leaf petioles. Foliar spraying with gibberellic acid, especially at a concentration of 100 mg/L, also caused a significant increase in the rate of height and diameter of the main stem and the area of one leaf. The leaf area of the seedling, the protein, the wet and dry weight of the leaves, and the concentration of phosphorus, potassium, zinc, and iron in the leaf petioles. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younis Al-Allaf (Dean of the College) attended a part of the discussion.
