Discussion of a Ph.D. Thesis in the Department of Food Science

A Ph.D. thesis was discussed in the Department of Food Science/ College of Agriculture and Forestry / University of Mosul for the student (Emad Abdel Sattar Abdullah Saleh Al Badrani) on Monday, 30 October -2023. Thesis title (The effect of nanoparticles prepared from some plant extracts and probiotics on the microorganisms that cause food spoilage). Prof. Dr. Ali Farouk Al-Maadidi (Assistant Dean College of Agriculture and Forestry for Scientific Affairs) attended part of the discussion.

The study aimed to deal with the preparation of nanoparticles of copper oxide and selenium nanoparticles using plant extracts (chamomile and currants) and probiotics (Lactobacillus acidophilus and Lactobacillus plantarum) and their mixture and studying their effect on some microorganisms. Positive and negative for the gram stain that causes food spoilage.

Then, the discussion committee read the decision, which included acceptance of the thesis and awarded the student a Ph.D. degree.
