A Ph.D. thesis was discussed in the Department of Plant Protection/ College of Agriculture and Forestry / University of Mosul for the student (Lubna Laith Malallah) on Monday, May 5, 2024. The thesis title was (Induction of Systemic Resistance against Yellow Mosaic Virus. Zakini and Mosaic promote the improvement of squash using mycorrhizal mycorrhizae and various types of chemicals). Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younis Al-Allaf (Dean of the College) and Prof. Dr. Hiam Al-Taie (Dean of the College of Sciences) attended a part of the discussion.

The study aimed to demonstrate the benefit of dendritic mycorrhizae in inducing systemic resistance in squash plants against the Zincini yellow mosaic virus and the Rosemary mosaic virus. The most important results of the study showed that dendritic mycorrhiza had a role in inducing systemic resistance in the tested squash plants.
